I realized, recently, that I could take my coupon, if it is large enough, to the cashier and trade it in for smaller denomination coupons. Any left over free play is lost.) My problem used to be that if I put it in a machine that wasn't paying off or that I just didn't enjoy playing, I was stuck there until I used up the coupon's value. (Actually, you can cash out, but only the amount you have won. Our local Harrah's will send a free play coupon that has to be put in the machine with your card in and you can't cash out until it is all played off.
